Kitty Eisele

Kitty Eisele makes radio, films and podcasts to share America's stories and create civic culture. She has a long history as an editor and producer at NPR, supervising network news and cultural coverage and writing essays and feature stories. Prior to that, she was a producer with filmmaker Ken Burns, on the landmark documentary series "The Civil War" and other films for PBS. Kitty is a past Nieman Fellow at Harvard University and has taught journalism at Georgetown. Most recently, she was a caregiver for her late father and produced the award-winning podcast "Twenty-Four Seven: A Podcast About Caregiving," based on her family’s experience. She has been a Fellow and Faculty Member at Salzburg sessions beginning in 1994 and is honored to continue this long and meaningful association.
