Media Academy Alumni spotlight on 'Redefining Humanity: Art and Research in the AI-driven Era'

In this exciting pre-academy virtual gathering, we welcomed the incoming cohort of the 2024 Salzburg Media Academy with a special presentation and interaction. This was followed by a short Q&A where we addressed any questions, clarifications, and concerns regarding arrival at Salzburg, and shared more details on the program, schedule, projects, excursions, and staying at Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron.

Through her art and research, Tong has been seeking to engage in meaningful dialogue about the evolving nature of humanity in this AI-driven era, challenging us to consider the ethical and societal implications of this transformative technology. In this presentation, she would briefly discuss the societal shifts AI brings, including changes in communication, work, and creativity, and use specific art projects and work experiences of hers to demonstrate her approach to understanding how these shifts might redefine what it means to be human, focusing on aspects like digital identities, co-creating patterns, and critical thinking in an AI-driven world.
