On the occasion of Earth Day, we are excited to announce the publication of a new digital report highlighting the growing momentum behind Nature-Based Education and its role in shaping a more sustainable and resilient future.

Nature-Based Education is part of a broader ecosystem of blended educational strategies that bring nature to the core of learning. It has been identified as a powerful response to interconnected global challenges, from climate change and biodiversity loss to student well-being and educational equity.

Building on a global dialogue that brought together educators, policymakers, and environmental leaders at Salzburg Global in September 2025, this interactive report captures unique insights, innovative practices, and actionable pathways for embedding nature at the heart of learning. It offers a glimpse into what is possible when education systems prioritize ecological awareness, resilience, and stewardship.

Dominic Regester, Director of the Salzburg Global Center for Education Transformation, reflected, “This report serves as both a timely reflection and a call to action. It invites readers to reconsider the role of education in fostering a deeper connection between people and the natural world, emphasizing that meaningful change begins with reimagining how and where learning takes place.”

The publication reflects the continued work of Salzburg Global and its partners, the TUI Care Foundation, International Union for the Conservation of Nature Commission on Education and Communication, and the Canadian Wildlife Federation to advance regenerative education systems.

We invite you to explore the full digital report here to engage with the global voices committed to bringing nature back into the center of learning.
