Zsófia Banuta

Zsófia Banuta is an Obama Leader and the co-founder & director of Unhack Democracy, a nonprofit organization promoting electoral integrity and empowering civil society across Europe. With her team, she helped put Viktor Orbán's 2018 supermajority into question through a year-long election integrity investigation. She has led initiatives to educate and mobilize voters and poll workers, advocate for transparent election observation, and organize a high-intensity election integrity war game ahead of Hungary's historic 2026 parliamentary elections. In response to the evolving challenges facing democracy, Zsófia also pioneered REWIRE, a hope-based incubator that combines neuroscience, entrepreneurship, and creativity to help civil society leaders develop innovative, human-centered democracy-building initiatives. Zsófia holds an M.B.A. from IE Business School in Madrid and a B.A. in television production from Hofstra University in New York, USA.
