Zeynep joined the Council of Europe in 2008 and is currently a Senior Legal Officer in the Secretariat of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities (ACFC). At the Council of Europe, Zeynep has previously worked in the secretariats of the Steering Committee on the Rights of the Child, the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI), the Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (GREVIO), and the Registry of the European Court of Human Rights. From 2011 to 2015, Zeynep was an Assistant Professor of Human Rights Law and Constitutional Law at Koç University Law School (Istanbul), and has published extensively on issues related to non-discrimination and gender equality. Earlier in her career, she worked for a think-tank on Turkey's EU accession. Zeynep has studied in several European countries and holds Ph.D., LL.M., and LL.B. degrees.
