Zainab Hassen is currently the Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassadors Network (CYPAN) coordinator in SriLanka. Zainab is a passionate development practitioner with seven years of demonstrated and evidenced work in areas like gender, peacebuilding, advocacy, social policy, and communications. She has gained experience within international, regional, and local structures through her extensive work with the Ministry of Reconciliation, UNDP, Commonwealth, UN Women, Asian Development Bank, Family Planning Association, and Women in Need. Zainab also founded Yellowdot, which creates support programs that bridge gaps for vulnerable groups and provide psycho-social, legal, and medical assistance. Her academic background includes a master's in Human Rights, a diploma in Law, and a bachelor's in International Development; She is currently based in Sri Lanka, where she tends to her herb garden and creates wobbly pots on a wheel in her extra time.
