Kim, Young Ock is a non-executive director of Korean Employment and Social Welfare Association after working for Korean Women's Development Institute as a research fellow for more than 30 years. She earned her Ph.D in economics at Korea University in 2000 and served long time as a board member of the Korean Women Economists Association. Her research interests include human resources development, labor market, and women's economic participation. During the period of 2003-2004 she joined the Government on a full-time basis as a policy adviser to the Ministry of Gender Equality and was a visiting scholar to IRWG of University of Michigan in 2005. She also worked as adjunct professor at Sookmyung Women's University. Young Ock Kim has developed a strong partnership both with GOs and NGOs. She used to be a commission member of the National Labor Relations Commission and the Minimum Wage Council while networking with various women's groups.
