Wendy Smith sits in the inclusive insurance business of AXA Group, AXA EssentiALL, as the Agriculture and Public-Private Partnerships Lead, where she manages the EssentiALL portfolio of climate and agriculture insurance schemes across 14 emerging markets. She is an insurance professional, with broad experience working in collaboration with public and private sector entities to deliver sustainable risk transfer to combat natural hazard and extreme weather risk. Wendy is focussed on scalability and impact for those on the ground, including inputs into program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. She joins AXA from UK-based parametric risk transfer provider Global Parametrics, where she worked to create parametric programmes across Africa, Asia and Latin America. She holds an MA in Economics and Geography from the University of Glasgow and an MSc in Risk and Disaster Resilience from University College London.
