Juliet Wanjira Wanjiru

Wanjira Wanjiru is a Kenyan political activist and co-founder of The Mathare Social Justice Centre, a grassroots hub addressing community struggles against human rights violations. She was at the forefront of the GenZ anti-tax protests and rose to prominence during a protest in Nairobi when she resisted arrest and declared, "When we lose our fear, they lose their power" — a chant that went viral and became a rallying cry for Kenya's GenZ protests. Internationally, She authored the forward for Oxfam's Resisting the rule of the rich and writes with the Kenya organic intellectuals Network. A leading voice in Kenyan GenZ movement, she is currently running for local office advancing her commitment to social justice, equity and people power.
