Vinayakan Sajeev-Beena is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Economics & Public Policy at the University of Bologna, Italy. He is a pluralist economist dedicated to advancing public policy and LGBTQIA+ economics. Alongside his academic pursuits, Vinayakan has taken strides in the field by co-founding the Institute for Queer Economics, a pioneering initiative aimed at integrating LGBTQIA+ perspectives into economic analysis. His commitment to reshaping economic thought has also led him to be elected twice to the members' council of Rethinking Economics International, where he contributes as a campaign officer. Vinayakan's research is broad and impactful, covering critical areas such as property rights, tribal policies, and the significant contributions of Indian libertarian economists. His academic excellence has been recognized through awards, including the Frédéric Bastiat and Don Lavoie Fellowships at the Mercatus Center, George Mason University, and the Youth Leadership Fellowship from the Centre for Public Policy Research in India. As a national coordinator for Students for Liberty (SFL), he plays a key role in leading the academic programs track for South Asia-SFL and has been honored as a distinguished Prometheus Fellow. Admiring economist Hayek, Vinayakan also enjoys swimming for personal solace.
