Creative Director, Tui Raven, Australia
Tui Raven (Yamaji/Nyungar) is a cultural curator, writer, researcher, and storyteller. Tui specializes in West Australian First Nations community engagement to ensure knowledges are shared in culturally appropriate, compatible and relevant ways. Tui is driven to help others to understand their own connection to land, sea, and country. During 2021, Tui curated a First Nations exhibition, Collective Ground for The Art Gallery of Western Australia. This brings together a lifetime of cultural understanding combined with creativity to curate a space that allowed visitors to explore deep time and the stories that flow through the land on which we all live. Tui wanted the viewer to understand that communities, while they may be separate, have connections through deep time. Tui holds a bachelor of fine arts (hons) and a graduate diploma of arts (linguistics). She is also a graduate of the Yorga Djenna Bidi Program, a First Nations women's leadership program with the Western Australian Leadership Institute.
