Trishna Thapa is a senior program officer at Nagarik Aawaz, Nepal. She is a registered law practitioner at the Nepal Bar Council. She has comprehensive advocacy experience on the rights of women, girls, and people with disabilities in Nepal, including the prevalence of gender-based violence, discriminatory legal provisions, and the rights of persons with disabilities, children, and adolescents. She has sensitized more than 500 policymakers, including members of parliament, constitutional body members, judicial authorities, and bureaucrats. She has trained more than 1000 youths, including women and persons with psychosocial disabilities, on human rights, access to justice, and mental health awareness issues. She has represented the voice of youth and women at the U.N. Headquarters in New York and at the House of Lords, U.K. Parliament on SDG 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing) and SDG 16 (Peace Justice and Strong Institutions).
