Tom Mutsch is a third-year Ph.D. student in Communication Studies at Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) in Lisbon. His research adopts a qualitative, ethnographic approach to exploring self-regulation and (dis)connection practices within digital media environments and multicultural settings. Tom holds a B.A. in Multimedia Production and an M.A. in Learning and Communication in Multilingual and Multicultural Contexts from the University of Luxembourg (Luxembourg). His master's thesis examined the connotations and stereotypes associated with different communities as represented in Luxembourgish media. Tom has over a decade of professional experience in the media industry, with a focus on theatre, event production, and audio-visual communication. In addition, Tom has been actively involved in non-formal education initiatives in Luxembourg, leading workshops on media literacy, intercultural communication, and team building for children and adolescents.
