Timmy Baksh is a Research and Planning Director at Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries of Trinidad and Tobago. In 2013 he was appointed Senior Economist, Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago. He returned to the Ministry of Energy in September 2015 and in May 2018 was appointed as the Director of Research and Planning. Presently, he is a member of the National Committee for the Implementation Plan for the Nationally Determined Contribution - Paris Agreement (2017 to 2030), the Vice Chair for Permanent Local Content of Trinidad and Tobago and the Chairperson and the Trinidad and Tobago representative on the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, Gas Research Institute - Steering Committee, he also represents Trinidad and Tobago at the World Energy Congress, the World Petroleum Council and the Latin American Energy Organization. He has authored and published several research papers and is cited in World Bank publications. Timmy has a B.Sc. Economics from The University of the West Indies, and MBA Degrees: Strategic Management - Edinburgh School of Business, and International Oil and Gas Management - University of Dundee.
