Teresita Herbosa is presently independent director of several investment companies and a publicly listed universal bank in the Philippines. Teresita retired as senior partner and co-managing partner of one of the biggest law firms in my country when she was appointed by then President Benigno Aquino III as chairperson of the Securities & Exchange Commission which is the corporate and securities regulator in the Philippines. As SEC chairperson, she focused on strengthening the capital markets by promoting good corporate governance among publicly listed companies and proposing legislative amendments to the general law on corporations. Teresita was involved in various ASEAN capital markets related activities. She co-authored "The Revised Corporation Code of the Philippines Its Theories and Applications" after her proposed amendments were all incorporated in the new law in 2019. She also teach commercial law in various law schools and recently was an examiner on the subject in the bar exams. She have been involved in local NGOs such as Child Protection Network, Zonta Manila, GreenPro and NextGen Women Corporate Directors. Teresita has assisted in water.org in the Philippines and taken part in its last two fora discussing solutions to the water crisis.
