Su-Fern Hoe is principal research fellow at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Singapore where she founded and directs the inaugural Cultural Policy and Evidence Lab for Singapore and Southeast Asia. She specializes in engaged and evidence-based analysis of cultural policy across three strands: the impact of cultural governance on creative labor, cultural value, and ecological sustainability; the integral value of the arts in place-transformation processes; and policy from below, including mutual aid, solidarity, and equity. Su-Fern also lectures for the M.A. in arts and cultural management at Leuphana University of Lüneburg, Germany, and serves as external examiner for the Diploma of Arts Business Management at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, in Singapore. A strong advocate for arts and community engagement, she is chairman of the board of directors for Dance Nucleus and is part of various ground-up alliances, including #WaterlooStKakis.
