Steve is the Partnership Coordinator and Communications Advisor for UPEACE Somalia under the Africa Programme, where he builds strategic relationships with political, diplomatic, and educational stakeholders across Somalia, Africa, and the Middle East. He also leads media and communications efforts, ensuring that UPEACE Somalia's initiatives receive national and international visibility. With extensive experience in Somalia since 2010, Steve has worked on development, media, stabilization, and research projects in collaboration with federal and state governments, media organizations, and partners such as the UN, AMISOM/ATMIS, UNESCO, IOM, USAID/OTI, and the World Bank. His work spans all Somali member states. Internationally, he has led media initiatives and conflict-sensitive productions with organizations including WTN/APTN, FCO, several UN agencies, the EU, Phoenix Television, ICMP, and AJMI, bringing decades of expertise in media strategy and cross-sector collaboration. Steve is a Salzburg Global Fellow.
