Stephano Mendelek is a cultural worker and aspiring narrative shifter based in Beirut. As director of development and communications at AFLAMUNA, he supports filmmakers and audiences from across the Arab world in becoming agents of change. He has spearheaded the creation of a nonprofit streaming platform and a pan-Arab network of community cinemas. Stephano is an active member of the global Decolonize Now! collective of narrative practitioners and the Global Community Distribution Group. He is also collaborating with his co-conspirators on the Ma3aber Collective and Project (Crossings). Passionate about narrative theory, praxis, and the political imaginary, Stephano's work focuses on reshaping stories to foster justice, imagination, and collective transformation.
