Soyapi Mumba is a founder and a digital health consultant based in Malawi with over 20 years experience. He is a highly experienced digital health leader and consultant with vast experience in developing and implementing innovative technology solutions for low-resourced settings. He conceptualised and contributed to the development of Chipatala cha pa Foni (CCPF or "Health Centre by Phone"), a toll-free mobile health hotline that provides health and nutrition information and advice to people nationwide, particularly in remote areas where access to health facilities is limited. He has spent over 11 years leading and managing the development of a suite of national digital health systems in Malawi such as the National Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System, Case-based Surveillance System, the Lab Information Management System (LIMS), electronic Disease Surveillance and Response (eIDSR) system, a national OpenHIE-based interoperability framework and the Demographic Data Exchange for unique patient identification of over 1 million patients. He holds a MS degree in Biomedical Informatics from University of Pittsburgh, PA, USA and a BSc degree in Computer Science from University of Hertfordshire, UK. In addition to Chichewa and Tumbuka in Malawi, he speaks English fluently and a little bit of German and French (Level A1).
