Sophie Ward is an Administration Officer for the Ideas Workshop at Open Society Foundations. In this role, she provides critical administrative and operational support to the team, overseeing contracting processes, coordinating travel and events, and ensuring the effective delivery of key initiatives. Sophie brings over 15 years of experience in international administrative and executive support, with a background spanning the fields of politics and aviation. Among her achievements are the organisation of large-scale conferences and creative fundraising initiatives, including the first flash mob dance at Heathrow Airport to raise funds for cancer research. She currently supports the launch of the Seven Cities Fellowship and manages the contracting of commissioned writers for the Ideas Letter. Sophie is committed to advancing collaborative initiatives that amplify diverse perspectives, particularly across the Global South. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, travelling, and spending time with her family and friends.
