Sophie Gilder

Sophie Gilder is managing director of digital assets at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) in Sydney. Sophie is responsible for the strategy, research, policy advocacy, experimentation, and commercialization of blockchain projects including digital currencies, asset tokenization, cryptocurrency, and the intersection of artificial intelligence and digital finance. Previously, Sophie established the Blockchain and AI Centers of Excellence at CBA and was a founding member of x15ventures, managing a portfolio of fintech ventures. Her prior experience includes working in capital markets across Europe and Australia, as well as experience as a startup founder. Sophie is on the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on Decentralized Finance, the International Standards Technical Committee on Blockchain, and the Industry Advisory Group for the Reserve Bank of Australia. Sophie holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Economics. She is a Fellow of Salzburg Global.
