Shuma Panse currently serves as a senior program officer at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which is the nation's largest philanthropy focused exclusively on health. She works in two grant-making areas: engaging private sector leaders to improve health outcomes for people and communities, and identifying innovative solutions and ideas from abroad that can be adapted to the U.S. context, with a focus on gender equity. Her career interests are in business engagement on health, public-private partnerships, and global health. Prior works experiences include GBCHealth, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Peace Corps and health departments in New York City, Massachusetts and Louisiana. Shuma holds a B.A. in Asian and Middle Eastern culture from Barnard College and an M.P.H. from Tulane University.
