Shizuka 'Zucca' is a founding member of Tonari, driving social impact projects, fostering community engagement, and managing communications. With a decade of experience as a director and producer in public broadcasting, Zucca has worked on a variety of projects ranging from educational programs and animated series to documentaries, digital content like apps, and live performances that leverage technology. Today, she is passionate about projects that merge social welfare with creative problem solving to address community needs. She is also dedicated to building a supportive community that offers flexible work and lifestyle options, encouraging Japanese women to continue their careers after childbirth. Having grown up in Italy and South Africa, she values diverse cultural perspectives. Zucca is a Salzburg Global Fellow.
