Shanmugapriyah Thiyagarajah is the deputy director for program development and quality for Save the Children International in Uganda. Shanmugapriyah contributed to promoting the rights of children and adults in both humanitarian and development sector programs for nearly ten years working in Asia Pacific countries, Niger and Iraq. She has spent the last ten years designing and delivering high-quality programs to shape policy and practice through the organizations she worked for her versatile experience. She brings expertise in strategy design and delivery, program quality, technical excellence, and program management. She continues to work on programming, fundraising, and advocacy efforts to improve human rights, focusing on child rights. Shanmugapriyah strongly believes in shifting power to children and community, localization, impact-driven agenda, innovation, and public investment as critical pillars for bringing sustainable change in the lives of children and adults. She holds a master's in Sustainable Economic Development and a bachelor's in Business.
