Shailendra Sharma is principal advisor to the Director of Education, Government of Delhi. As an advisor, Shailendra works with the Education Minister and Directorate in shaping the education reforms in Delhi. These reforms are majorly in the area of children's learning, teachers' training, parental engagement and school infrastructure improvement. He is a member of State Planning Group to develop the National Education Policy 2020 implementation plan for Delhi. He is also a member of Delhi State Advisory Council under Right to Education Act. Prior to his current role, Shailendra has been closely associated with Pratham, one of the largest organizations working for children's education in India. He led Pratham's community based education program in Delhi for more than one and a half decades. He holds a master's degree in social work and a bachelor's degree in law.
