Sarian Sankoh is an artist and philanthropic worker based in New York City. As a black, queer, fat fem, Sarian strives to uplift the beauty and creativity of marginalized people and support the collective movement toward liberation. Sarian's passion for arts, culture, and justice led them to work at places like the NYU LGBTQ+ Center and, currently, the Surdna Foundation, where they serve as the Thriving Cultures senior program associate. Here, they work to fund creative approaches for the liberation of marginalized communities. In their artistic work, Sarian's experience ranges from indie-R&B songwriting, to classical composition, to performing with steelbands in Trinidad. Outside of work, Sarian enjoys gaming, laughing too hard at TikTok, and spending time with loved ones.
