Sarah Ann Smith is the Program Director - Energy at the Global Methane Hub. Before joining the Hub, she was part of the leadership team at the Clean Air Task Force (CATF), where she served as Chief of Programs. During her nine years at CATF, Sarah built and directed the organization's methane program, expanding it from a small team to a global operation of over 20 staff with significant impact across four continents. In this role, she co-founded and co-led the U.S. Methane Partners Campaign for six years and played a pivotal role in establishing methane-focused civil society partnerships in multiple regions and globally. Her efforts contributed to the advancement of the Global Methane Pledge launched in 2021. Sarah also served as an elected member of the Board of the Climate & Clean Air Coalition, a global alliance of over 70 countries and numerous NGOs working to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants. Prior to her time at CATF, Sarah was a Presidential Management Fellow at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and spent four years leading successful coalitions and public policy campaigns for Clean Water Action.
