Sanduni Ariyawansa is a deputy director for the Office for National Unity and Reconciliation (ONUR) in Sri Lanka, which she joined in 2015 at its inception, and heads the conflict transformation division. There are three main reconciliation programs conducted under her unit. The flagship program named "Heal the Past: Build the Future" is a national peacebuilding and reconciliation program conducted in seventeen districts with government administrative bodies and a partnership with 23 civil society organizations. The other two programs are conducted with state universities and military widows and families in selected districts in Sri Lanka. The main concept of her programs is developing government officers and NGO representatives as change agents to involve in the peacebuilding and reconciliation process. All her programs directly enforce the transitional justice process in Sri Lanka. She has previously worked at the South Asia Policy and Research Institute and engaged in interfaith dialogue programs. She received a bachelor's degree from Rajarata University, Sri Lanka, and participated in several international trainings and fellowships related to peacebuilding, mediation, and reconciliation.
