Samuel is the Chairman of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC). He is the immediate former Senior Advisor on Cohesion, Peace and Conflict Resolution in the Executive Office of the President and Cabinet Affairs after serving as a Commissioner in the Judicial Service Commission; the Ecumenical Special Envoy for Sudan (2010-2012); Chancellor of St. Paul's University (2007-2018); general secretary of the World Council of Churches; and general secretary of National Council of Churches of Kenya. He has vast experience in mediation and dialogue, conflict resolution, healing, and reconciliation in Kenya, Africa, and the world. Samuel holds a Doctor of International Relations. He is an author of several books including Dialogue Matters; and Political Stability, Economic Prosperity and Social Cohesion in Kenya.
