Salisu Dahiru is the immediate past Director General the National Council on Climate Change in Nigeria. He also serves as a member of the Steering Group for the Inclusive Forum on Carbon Mitigation Approaches (IFCMA) of the OECD. He was the UNFCCC National Focal Point for Nigeria. He laid the foundation for the establishment of the institutional framework and operational procedures for the council. Prior to this, he held various positions, including academician, Head of Nigeria's Federal Department of Forestry, Special Assistant to the Minister of Environment (Technical), National Project Coordinator of the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project under the World Bank, Nigeria Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape Project of the World Bank, Nigeria UNREDD Program, and Nigeria Forest Carbon Partnership Project of the World Bank.
