Sabine Carey

Sabine C. Carey holds the Chair in political science, international relations, at the University of Mannheim. Her research examines state repression, pro-government militias, and the drivers of political violence, with recent work on public perceptions of security and peace and analysing how support for basic human rights can be strengthened. Her work has been funded by an ERC Starting Grant and the German Research Foundation, among others. She co-authored “The Politics of Human Rights” (Cambridge University Press) and published in journals including the Journal of Politics, International Studies Quarterly, and the Journal of Peace Research.
