Ryan Clifton is a first-year Ph.D. student in Duke University's joint political science and public policy dual degree program. A member of Duke's Worldview Lab under the Kenan Institute for Ethics, Ryan's research agenda focuses on how core values influence political behavior, and how perceived value position relative to society impacts evaluations of others. Ryan is also interested in the policy feedback effects of electoral systems and elite rhetoric on voters' perceptions of themselves and others. Before attending Duke University, Ryan conducted analysis for local conservation land acquisition programs and for voter engagement initiatives on variables impacting student turnout.
