Pyae Phyo Thant, known as Ko Phyo, currently serves as the joint secretary of the Prime Minister's Office within the National Unity Government. Previously an activist, mentor, and consultant, Ko Phyo has extensive experience across diverse sectors, including policy analysis, governance strengthening, peace and social cohesion, social Enterprise, SME Development, economic Development, and Leadership and Organizational Management. Ko Phyo has dedicated over a decade to leading various local organizations and institutes. Amidst his commitment to the fight for freedom, human rights, democracy, equality, social justice, and peace, he has faced several personal hardships, including the sealing of his office and the burning of his parent's house in Yangon during the SAC's attempted coup in October 2021. Ko Phyo remains a resilient advocate for the rights and freedom of his people. A graduate of Yangon University in English and MIT's liberal arts program specializing in Business, Ko Phyo also holds a postgraduate diploma in Political Science and International Relations from Yangon University. He also studied governance and leadership at Copenhagen International School and peace advocacy at the SIT Graduate Institute in Vermont.
