Padtheera Narkurairattana is a lecturer at the Institute of Human Rights and Peace studies, Mahidol University and founder and Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Human Rights and Peace Studies. She was born in the upper south of Thailand and growing up heard much about the insurgency situation in the lower south. This inspired her to go to the deep south in 2009 to do fieldwork in the midst of deadly violence. Since then, she continues to devote herself as a peacebuilder, working with many groups of local people. She aims to rebuild peace from the bottom up and trusts in the power of relationship. Her projects include the concepts of reconciliation, health for peace, and culture of peace by applying interdisciplinary research methods and innovations to create more platforms for strengthening the relationship in the divided society. She is also part of Southern Thailand's Peace Survey Network.
