Oscar Chaves Marques is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in resource economics and sustainable development at the University of Bologna, Italy, focusing on circular economy solutions and sustainable finance. He is also an environmental and chemical engineering professional specializing in sustainability, environmental compliance and development finance. He previously served as a trainee in the sustainability and quality management department at the European Investment Bank, where he strengthened environmental and social complaints monitoring systems, supported due diligence processes and developed data-driven reporting tools to improve institutional performance and compliance. Before this, Oscar worked as an environmental assistant at Mott MacDonald, contributing to environmental impact assessments, waste water optimization and major infrastructure projects.
