Omalisa Baldeo is the Acting Director of Research and Planning in the Ministry of Labor, Trinidad and Tobago. She has responsibility for conducting research on labor market issues, developing policy on a range of labor and labor-related issues, managing projects aimed at promoting decent work in Trinidad and Tobago and advising on the design and implementation of programs under the purview of the Ministry of Labor. Omalisa has worked as a public policy professional for over twenty years and has been actively involved in promoting national tripartite social dialogue, greater inclusion of persons with disabilities in the workplace and providing inputs into discussions on Just Transitions in Trinidad and Tobago. She has been the beneficiary of training in international labor standards and labor policies for decent work from both the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the International Training Centre of the ILO. She holds a B.Sc. in Economics and Management from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago, and an M.A. in Industrial and Employment Relations from the University of Turin, Turin, Italy.
