Olga Barbasiewicz is an adjunct/assistant professor at the SWPS University in Warsaw, Poland. At this university, she is also the head of Japanese Language Track of Asian Studies. She also serves as an intercultural management adviser for European companies that deal with Asia. In her current research, she focuses on memory politics and reconciliation in Japanese-Korean relations in comparison with Polish-German relations. Before her position at the SWPS University, she was an assistant professor at the Institute of Middle and Far East, Faculty of Political Studies, at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. Her recent co-authored English language publications include "Historical and Collective Memory in the Middle and Far East," "Internal and External Aspects of Japanese Security," and "Security Dilemmas and Challenges in 21st Century Asia. She holds her Ph.D. and M.A. in political science as well as M.A. in Japanese studies. She held the JASSO scholarship and studied International Relations at Tsukuba University in Japan.
