Nuhu Yaqub Jr. is a Child Health Adviser at the World Health Organization headquarters, where he leads work on nurturing care and early child development within the Department of Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent and Ageing Health. His work focuses on child health policy, program implementation, normative guidance, and health systems strengthening. He has extensive experience supporting governments and partners to design and implement strategies, reforms and large-scale health programs aimed at improving health outcomes for women, children and adolescents. He has worked in many countries including in Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Viet Nam, and the WHO Regional Office for Africa, supporting efforts to improve health outcomes for women, children and adolescents.
