Nishchhal Kharal is a youth artist-activist committed to empowering vulnerable and marginalized communities by expanding civic space in Nepal. Nishchhal leads a creative nonprofit 'Freedom Studio' which strategically and creatively supports civic expression and mobilization. He has over 12 years of experience in youth engagement, civil society development, localization, and peacebuilding. Before Freedom Studio, Nishchhal was a program manager at the Center for Social Change, a think-tank in Kathmandu. In 2012, he founded and led Nepal's first youth organization, ''We' for Change', which is entirely governed by youth aged between 16 and 24. Nishchhal has worked with several organizations and movements in Nepal and abroad to strengthen youth leadership, democratic governance, civic values, and local-led development. He holds a master's degree in Conflict, Governance, and Development from the University of York, UK, as a Chevening Scholar.
