Nirmal Kumar Upreti is the president of the Forum for Nation Building, Nepal. He is a young human rights defender and youth activist from Nepal with more than 17 years of professional experience in diverse working areas, including human rights, migration, mediation access to justice, youth, development, and peace. Nirmal has contributed to establishing the Youth Policy 2010 and worked on the peace process of Nepal by engaging himself in Maoist Army Reintegration Process in 2012. He worked to provide comments on the draft bill of "The TRC Commission" and "Disappearance Commission," established to settle the peace process of the country. He has expertise in migration issues and provides pro bono legal services. In his leadership, FNB Nepal has been shortlisted for the 2018 PILnet Pro Bono Local Impact Award and was a finalist in the 2017 Justice Prize Competition. Nirmal holds an LL.M. degree from the Kathmandu School of Law, an M.A. in English from Tribhuvan University, and an L.L. B from the Nepal Law Campus.
