Nicolas Schunck joined the Velux Foundations in 2017 and, since 2024, leads Villum Foundation’s European Youth and Education grant area. Each year, this program allocates €20 million to social and educational projects in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Italy, and France. Nicolas oversees the area’s strategy, two programs, and a team of five managing administration, systemic influence, and monitoring of about 70 active projects. Previously, he worked on cross-sector collaborations between research and practice and contributed to building Education Science at Aarhus University. He holds degrees in philosophy (BA), education (BA), and philosophy of education (MA) and grew up in Brussels.
