Nicola Daniel is director for finance and governance, and program director for the China Forum (contract) at Salzburg Global. She is a seasoned China watcher. Nicola has worked in Asia in a variety of roles in the investment industry, as an equity analyst and portfolio manager at Franklin Templeton Investments in Hong Kong. She has also held roles at the International Monetary Fund and on the trading floor at the World Bank. She earned a Doctorate of International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University SAIS, where she researched Europe's data privacy laws and their influence on data governance in China, Japan, and the United States. She has been a Fellow at the German Marshall Fund's Digital Innovation and Democracy Initiative.
