Assistant Professor, Department of Law and Legal Studies, Carleton University, Canada
Nadine Ijaz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Law and Legal Studies, Director of the Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) Lab at Carleton University (Canada), and President of the International Society for TCIM Research (ISCMR). Centered around epistemic justice in health-related evidentiary and policy spheres, her interdisciplinary scholarship in the TCIM field draws on the disciplines of medical sociology and anthropology, postcolonial feminist science and technology studies, and critical policy studies. Dr. Ijaz is currently co-leading a World Health Organization commissioned evidence review of TCIM research approaches. This project emphasizes the 'paradigmatic alignment' between the scholarly methods applied and the therapeutic paradigms being studied, and seeks to identify barriers and enablers to the conduct and application of TCIM research across global regions.
