Myrto Drizou is assistant professor in the department of Western languages and literatures at Bogaziçi University in Istanbul, where she teaches courses on American studies, American literature, and critical theory. Her scholarship addresses the intersections of politics and literature, with emphasis on historical and cultural constructions of identity in 19th/20th century US literature. She has previously taught at Valdosta State University and the University of Illinois at Springfield in the US. She holds a Ph.D and MA in comparative literature from the State University of New York at Buffalo; a MA in politics and international relations from the University of Warwick, UK; and a BA in English and Greek language and literature from the University of Athens in Greece.
