Momoko Tamamura is a project coordinator at the US Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. She was a Salzburg Global Impact Fellow and a communication officer for the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Rwanda. She grew up in Hyogo, Japan, where she attended Kwansei Gakuin University. She graduated in 2020 with a B.Al in international relations. To pursue her passion for women's empowerment and international development, she studied journalism abroad at the University of Missouri-Columbia and launched a female economic development project in Rwanda, East Africa. She was also acting US-Japan Council Tomodachi Metlife Women's Leadership Program Fellow and youth presenter at the 14th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. After graduation, she worked for the American International Group (AIG).
