University Program Participant, Central European University Roma Graduation Preparation Program, Hungary

Michal Žiga is currently a university program participant of the Central European University Roma Graduation Preparation Program. Michalis an emerging public policy professional with experience across human rights, migration governance, and European public policy who aims to contribute fresh perspectives on technology, governance, and equity within European policymaking. He has led and contributed to initiatives supporting at-risk communities, including founding Out of Terror, a student-led project facilitating the evacuation of persecuted Afghani NGO representatives, and coordinating policy-focused work at the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Slovakia. Most recently, he served as a trainee at the Council of Europe’s Roma and Travelers Division, assisting with the evaluation of the Strategic Action Plan for Roma and Travelers Inclusion and supporting multistakeholder policy dialogue. Michal earned his bachelor’s degree in political science at the Bratislava International School of Liberal Arts, Slovakia, where his research examined regional security and strategic decision-making.
