Michael Shipler has 25 years of experience in conflict transformation. In his roles as Vice President of Strategy at Search for Common Ground and the Interim CEO of Soliya, he has led global organizations which address polarization, build social cohesion, and strengthen democratic institutions. Michael established the Children & Youth division at Search for Common Ground, a pioneering effort that contributed to the landmark UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace, and Security. He co-founded Search's Nepal program, which supported the country's peace process, and partnered with General Roméo Dallaire to establish the Roméo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative. As Asia Regional Director, he led programs across 11 countries, including new operations in Myanmar and Central Asia. A proven innovator, Michael has led child soldier reintegration efforts, co-created a 26-episode governance television drama, and designed various multimedia campaigns to counter extremism.
