Michael Ivenso is the director for Energy, Transportation, and Infrastructure at the National Council on Climate Change, supporting the Energy Transition Plan and the implementation of sectoral targets under Nigeria's NDC and NetZero agenda. In this capacity, he also supports the development of Nigeria's carbon market and its participation in the Global Methane Pledge (GMP). Prior to his current role, he was a Senior Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Environment and Climate Change, while concurrently serving as coordinator of the World Bank and federal government implementation of an expansive landscape restoration, flood control, and climate change response under NEWMAP. At the federal level, he supported the development of Nigeria's Guidance Manual for Climate Change Response Agenda and engagements at the UN Conference of Parties. Michael also championed and successfully pushed through an executive bill in the Anambra State House of Assembly that established a climate change agency in the state.
