Michael Ignatieff
Rector Emeritus and Professor of Historical Studies, Central European University, Vienna; Former Leader, Liberal Party of Canada
Dr. Michael Ignatieff is a Canadian writer, historian and politician. He has been a professor at the Harvard Kennedy School, the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, and Rector and President of Central European University in Budapest and Vienna. He is the author of 18 books, including Isaiah Berlin: a Life and On Consolation. He was awarded Spain's highest honor in the social sciences, the Princess of Asturias Prize, and holds fourteen honorary degrees, as well as the Order of Canada.
