Michael Grossman leads impact investing at Social Finance. Previously, Michael established and directed New Island Capital's mission-oriented credit business deploying market-rate credit in education, health care, renewable energy, natural foods and financial inclusion sectors. Michael managed international impact investing at Calvert Social Investment Foundation, worked as a senior advisor to McKinsey's Social Sector Office, and was the first head of Africa at the Millennium Challenge Corporation, a U.S. government agency, where he structured grants to support inclusive economic growth in Madagascar, Mali, Benin, Senegal, and Morocco. At Citibank, Michael served as Country Officer in Tunisia and Senegal, overseeing day-to-day management of banking operations in those countries. He worked as senior operations officer in Morocco and helped create Citibank's African capital markets business based in Ivory Coast. Michael holds an MS in finance from MIT and a BS from Georgetown University. He is a Chevalier in Senegal's National Order of the Lion.
